Training for Life

A documentary short

Samantha Sauer is a certified patient advocate living with gastroparesis and other chronic illnesses. After years of health setbacks, she sets out to train for a half-marathon again.

The film follows Sam from her first diagnosis through surgeries, serious infections, and the feeding tube that kept her alive. Through it all, running stayed her lifeline. Training for Life is about what it takes to keep going, and the people who help along the way.
